Edith Moreno

Deputy Executive Director, Office of Public Accountability / Ratepayer Advocate, City of Los Angeles

Edith Moreno, a native Angeleno, is the daughter of Mexican immigrants and a proud product of the Los Angeles Unified School District. She possesses 15 years of experience in the energy and environmental sector, with ten of those years specifically spent working for Sempra Energy’s regulated California utilities. Currently, she holds the position of Regulatory Strategy and Policy Business Manager at Southern California Gas Company. In this role, she oversees the strategic direction and execution of all policy and regulatory initiatives associated with the Angeles Link Project, SoCalGas’ proposal to establish the nation’s largest clean, renewable hydrogen energy pipeline system. Before joining the Sempra Energy family, Edith worked for two prominent environmental consulting firms, where she supported Clean Water Act regulatory compliance projects across Southern California. Edith earned her Bachelor of Arts in Geological Sciences and Hispanic Literature & Culture from Brown University, and later pursued her Master of Arts in Environmental Science and Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Currently, she is furthering her education by pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Mt. Saint Mary’s University.
