Evelyn Wang

Evelyn Wang, PhD, has more than 15 years of research and evaluation experience in school, community, and nonprofit settings across Los Angeles County, with an evaluation focus on wraparound supports for underserved students and families, the intersection of academic and social-emotional outcomes, and community schooling as a school transformation strategy. Evelyn has had extensive hands-on experience in collaborating with education interest holders—including K-12 schools, community-based organizations, universities, and government agencies—to develop and implement research and evaluation practices that support students, educators, practitioners, and policymakers. In her role as Director of Evaluation at LA’s BEST, Evelyn has deepened her engagement and understanding of evaluation best practices that enhance program impact and improve student and community outcomes in the expanded learning space; most recently, she has served as a member of the California Afterschool Network’s Research & Evaluation Strategy Committee.
