Change Starts with you.
One of the prerequisites for our volunteers over the age of 18 is clearance by a FBI/DOJ background check through the LAUSD processing office.
Four items that you must take to the processing office on the day of your appointment to process as a “volunteer” are listed below. Please contact Lynette Blynoe at 213-745-5931 if you would like for her to explain this designation and process. Here is what you’ll need:
- Current ID (drivers license, CA ID, passport, etc.)
- Original TB clearance that is less than 6 months old, and that is acceptable by the standards of the processing office (must be stamped; health administrator has a title after their name, MD, RN, NP, DO, PA, etc.)
- Social Security Card. SS# (number only is fine)
- The processing fee to receive a DOJ/FBI Live Scan/background check through LAUSD is $56.00 and the only form of payment that they accept is a money order or a cashier’s check made payable to “LAUSD.”
Once all items are obtained, contact the Volunteer Program for scheduling information.
