Responding to COVID-19 | Respuesta al COVID-19

While we too navigate the evolving impact of COVID-19, our mission to keep kids safe and support working families remains paramount. As an LAUSD partnership, we follow all district policies and guidance. LA’s BEST will resume when students can return to school.

Our operations and program team, over 2000 people strong, continues to do amazing work to build a culture of community and connection for our LA’s BEST community and all of Los Angeles.

LA’s BEST Afterschool Enrichment Program plays a vital role in the lives of more than 25,000 unique and talented elementary school students who come from neighborhoods with the fewest resources and the greatest needs.

Every school day, from the time the school bell rings until 6pm, each LA’s BEST student receives a nutritious meal, help with their homework and the opportunity to participate in a wide array of enrichment activities.

LA’s BEST engages children creatively, emotionally, intellectually and physically, empowering them to explore and discover the opportunities in their lives. We inspire and prepare children to create lives full of choices.

“LA’s BEST touches the lives of students and their families across Los Angeles — giving thousands of kids a safe, enriching, and empowering place to spend time after school and during the summer. LA’s BEST is essential to erasing the achievement gap, and I’m proud that my office drives a program that helps young people go after their dreams.”
– Eric Garcetti, Mayor of Los Angeles
