Director of Staff Development

Erika began working at LA’s BEST in May 2024 as the Director of Staff Development. As a member of the operations leadership team, she leads the team that is responsible for providing year-round training to all newly hired and current direct line staff across our 213 schools. In this role, she executes an impactful training plan that ensures alignment across the organization, Beyond the Bell, and LAUSD goals. Erika has 20 plus years of experience in the field of expanded learning (out of school time) programming, working at all levels as a Child Care Assistant, Site Coordinator, Lead Coordinator, and ELOP Field Supervisor. She has been a Senior Certified Trainer with CalSAC since 2016 and is also a member of the 2016 Leadership Development Institute Cohort. She earned a Master’s degree in Psychology with a focus on Child Development from Capella University.
