LA’s BEST students put their coding and engineering skills to the test during our Droids Robotics Tournament, where schools competed by showcasing the robots they built and programmed through the Droids program.
This exciting event brought together 162 students from 18 sites, supported by 18 dedicated staff members. Students in grades 3–6 used LEGO SPIKE Prime technology to design, build, and code their own robots, applying real-world engineering and computer science principles.
Throughout the tournament, students demonstrated teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving as they navigated challenges and refined their designs. The experience gave participants a hands-on opportunity to see their learning come to life in a collaborative and competitive environment.
The Droids program and tournament reflect LA’s BEST commitment to STEM-aligned learning that connects classroom concepts to real-world applications, helping students build skills that prepare them for the future.
