Twenty-two years. To put that in perspective, a student who started in an LA’s BEST program the day Christopher Dusseault joined our Governing Board has likely graduated college and started a career of their own by now.
This month, we are honoring Chris for more than two decades of service to LA’s BEST. Having served six years as Board Chair, Chris has been much more than a steady hand, he has been a strategic anchor through our most pivotal moments of growth.
Beyond the Boardroom
Chris’s impact extends far beyond governance. Through his leadership, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP became a true cornerstone of the LA’s BEST family. From hosting board meetings to their spirited participation in our annual Holiday Giving initiative, Chris and his firm have consistently shown up for our students and helped bring joy and support to students and families across Los Angeles.
The Power of Connection
Perhaps Chris’s greatest gift has been his advocacy. He didn’t just hold a seat at the table; he invited others to join it. By opening doors and fostering meaningful relationships, he has significantly expanded the community of people who believe in our mission.
The Next Chapter
On February 26, Chris will attend his final Governing Board meeting. While he is officially “passing the torch” to the next generation of leaders, we know his heart remains with LA’s BEST.
