Bersabel Belay

Bersabel brings over seventeen years of experience in accounting and finance, with expertise spanning mostly in the nonprofit sectors. Bersabel began her career in the for-profit sector, where she handled a variety of accounting responsibilities, including integrating data between systems to support mergers and acquisitions, and managing the acquisition of nationwide business licenses. She quickly transitioned to the nonprofit sector, dedicating her efforts to renowned organizations that support thousands of individuals and families in need in Los Angeles. With a passion for the mission of nonprofits, she has become a key contributor to managing the financial performance of diverse funding streams, including government grants, contracts and funds from private sources. Bersabel joined LA’s Best on December 2025 as a Senior Accountant. She is results-oriented and committed to helping organizations achieve their financial goals. She earned her MBA with a focus on International Business Management from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Her expertise includes but not limited to ensuring grants fiscal compliance, conducting in-depth analyses, accounting, forecasting, offering strategic recommendations, optimizing budgets, maintaining financial transparency, and facilitating successful audits. She deeply values the people she collaborates with, as well as the diverse stakeholders whose contributions drive the success of the organization she has worked for.
