Application FAQ
Our online application is available anytime in English and Spanish, and it can be translated into other languages as needed. You can apply for the current school year and the upcoming summer program all in one place. Just click the “Apply Now” button to get started.
Who Can Enroll?
- Elementary students in grades TK–5, with 6th grade participation at select schools
- Must attend an LAUSD school that hosts an LA’s BEST program.
- Enrollment is only for students of the host school (no off-campus students unless during Summer Program).
- Applications are accepted year-round.
How Do I Apply?
- Online Application available 24/7 (English, Spanish, and translatable to other languages).
- Use the application form above to submit your information.
- You can apply for the current school year and the upcoming summer program together..
- Required Information:
- Student’s name, grade, student ID (if known).
- School name (must be LA’s BEST site).
- Parent/Guardian contact info.
- At least three emergency contacts (ages 18+).
- Medical information: allergies, medications, health conditions.
- One Application per Child — each student must have their own application.
What Happens After I Apply?
- Once enrolled, kids can begin attending LA’s BEST programming.
- Emergency card, waivers, and early-release acknowledgments may be required after acceptance.
Enrollment Timeline
- Start of School Year- Apply in summer or early fall.
- Mid-Year Enrollment: Open Enrollment, students may start at any time.
- Summer Program Enrollment- Applications usually open in March or April.
- Annual Re-Enrollment- Required each year — families are reminded in the spring.
