2. You must present your original HS diploma/GED/Official HS transcripts

3. An adult Tuberculosis (TB) Risk Assessment within 60 days of your processing appointment.

4. Your name on your original Social Security Card must match with your Driver’s License or ID

5. You must have an unexpired Driver’s License or Unexpired CA ID

6. An LAUSD government background check is required as part of the hiring process for LAUSD. Please note that there may be an upfront fee of $67 associated with the background check due at the time of processing.

Opportunities With Our Nonprofit Team

Vice President of Development

Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President (VP) of Development is responsible for leading and managing all efforts to raise financial and in-kind support to sustain and expand the work of LA’s BEST. This position must establish sustainable, creative and strategic direction for fundraising and follow this with exemplary execution. The VP of Development also works with the Director of Communications to develop messaging and branding related to fundraising.

The VP of Development will supervise a development team of four and work closely with the President and CEO to cultivate and steward donors and seek new prospects. On a quarterly basis, the VP of Development evaluates the department’s progress towards goals and department budget. The VP of Development plays a lead role in fostering a culture of philanthropy by implementing systems, processes, and procedures that support LA’s BEST’s revenue goals. Reporting to the Director of Workforce Development, the Workforce Development Coordinator will play a pivotal part in supporting the growth and success of LA’s BEST’s workforce by supporting the management, execution, and development of comprehensive career advancement initiatives and their related systems. Director of Evaluation

Reporting to the Director of Arts, the Arts Coordinator is responsible for organizing, supporting and tracking the functions of the LA’s BEST Arts department, including but not limited to professional teaching artist residencies, assemblies, field trips, culminating events and professional development opportunities for LA’s BEST staff. The ideal candidate is energetic and innovative with a passion for the power of arts-based learning and creative engagement as a vehicle for positive youth development and understands the role that expanded learning programs can play in creating more equitable access to the skills and resources that children need to thrive in today’s world.
