Bringing innovative learning opportunities to LA's BEST students.

Partnerships help make our program more engaging.

Thanks to our partnerships with corporations, small businesses, universities and other non-profit organizations, LA’s BEST is able to offer students activities that encourage exploration and creativity, and nurture their intellectual, emotional and physical development.

Programmatic partners help launch new initiatives that are aligned with our shared values and goals, provide support for ongoing activities and facilitate pilot projects that can scale nationally.

Author and former NASA astronaut Leland Melvin visits LA's BEST through our JPL partnership.
Since 1999, NASA-JPL has brought hundreds of engineers to meet and mentor students and helped create our Celebrate Science Program. They also donated the Imagine Mars curriculum in which students design a sustainable community on Mars based on analyzing their own community and then present their community to engineers at NASA-JPL (and go on a tour!).
As a generous supporter since 2007, in addition to sponsoring events, Mattel, Inc., donated Hot Wheels® Speedometry™ kits in 2017 that encourage inquiry and real-world, problem-based learning through play, hands-on activities and in-depth lesson plans to every LA’s BEST site. Mattel also funded the training for our staff so they can learn how to use the materials to engage students.
LA’s BEST shares a great point of pride with the LA84 Foundation — we are both legacies of Mayor Tom Bradley. LA84 has been one of our most steadfast partners since 1988, and they continue to provide visionary leadership and financial support to ensure LA’s BEST students are 'Life Ready Through Sport,' and that girls have equal access to the life skills and values developed by participation in youth sports.
We are incredibly grateful for our Community Impact Arts Grant from the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture, which makes it possible for us to engage our students in hands-on arts learning experiences led by local professional teaching artists. Coming out of the pandemic, our students have let us know they want to participate in visual and performing arts with LA's BEST. Thank you for helping us make this possible!

We provide a range of opportunities for companies and non-profits interested in engaging our students in meaningful ways and strengthening the greater Los Angeles community.
